How To Crack ?
The mathematics paper focuses on school level topics so students must follow their maths from class 9-10 onwards. Entrance preparation needs basic concepts to be clear and if it is required, go through class 6-7 textbooks too.
If you are from CBSE board then you already possess the NCERT books, which is the most recommended book series for any competitive examination. So atleast be clear with the topics given in the NCERT books. Mathematics needs time for solving as compared to other portions. So while practising, also learn to increase your speed as well as accuracy. Only practice can make you discover your own tricks to save time in the hall. For that, mimic exam conditions at home and practice model question sets after you complete your preparation roughly.
You can invest in books specified for NDA exam too. This will give you an idea of the question pattern.
For the other paper, you need to do a few homeworks in order to pass the exam. The general aptitude paper consists of four parts:
- General aptitude / logical reasoning
- English
- General awareness
- Current affairs
The logical reasoning and English portions are very scoring. All you need is a lot of practice. The English part tests your vocabulary skills and therefore practice a lot of voice change, correction of spelling, one word substitution, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension, etc.
Gather and read a few yearbooks of atleast 4-5years preceding the present year as it is a very important clue for the current affairs or general awareness part. Read newspaper, magazines, etc to be fully updated for important events .
You must know about the medieval and modern history topics very well. For example, the Freedom struggle of India. Political topics such as about the constitution of India must also be known. .Physics question needs a lot of paper practice as mostly numericals are given.Chemistry questions are basically from very fundamental concepts such as classification of elements, composition, etc.The English part contains 200 marks. In no way you should miss a few sections that are really scoring.
Special Hacks To Crack
Do Not mix portions and read randomly. Organise your study timings well for each part and prepare patiently. Though the right time to prepare for entrances is after class 10, but even if you started later you can cover it up. All that is needed is real will power and perseverance.
